Båtsystem’s davit system for straight transoms is designed for the safe and efficient handling of dinghies. This model features robust hinge joints and struts with quick-release pins, allowing the arms to fold down into a compact position flat against the transom when not in use. This minimizes the boat’s overall length and saves space in marinas. The folding design also facilitates winter storage, transport, or onboard stowing, as the arms occupy minimal space.

Unlike conventional, fixed davits that transfer significant torsional forces directly to the hull, Båtsystem’s design utilizes counterbalancing lines. This engineering alters the load distribution and reduces torque on the transom to a minimum. Because the design prevents the davit from acting like a crowbar against the hull, internal hull reinforcement is not required at the installation points. The included fittings are specifically engineered to distribute the pushing forces evenly over a larger surface area.

The kit includes two foldable davit arms with a 32 mm tube dimension, where each individual arm has a maximum load capacity of 100 kg (totaling 200 kg for the system). However, due to the dynamic forces, shocks, and movement that occur while underway at sea, we do not recommend hanging a dinghy with a total weight of 200 kg in this setup. Our philosophy dictates that the safety margins must allow a single arm to fully support the entire weight of the dinghy and outboard on its own. The system is delivered complete with two davit arms, two sets of blocks and ropes, and mounting fittings for an angled stern. All structural components are manufactured from acid-resistant stainless steel (AiSi 316).
