Conventional davits from other manufacturers are fixed at an angle without any movable joints and mounted firmly directly to the hull, leaving your transom vulnerable to significant torsional forces. Båtsytem davits, instead, uses the support of counterbalancing lines – a feature standard on all Båtsystem davits.

Båtsystem davits therefore allows for a different distribution of the load without any torque at all! Consequently, our davits expose your transom to significantly less stress and virtually no torsional forces at all. This design uniquely alleviates strain on the mounting points, setting Båtsystem’s solution apart in the market.

To illustrate this crucial difference, consider how conventional davits can act like a crowbar, applying an immense “twisting” torque to the hull where the arms are mounted. Båtsystem davits eliminate this concern, removing the need for internal hull reinforcement at the installation points. All you need to ensure is that the pushing forces are evenly distributed over an area. Our fittings that are part of the kit are specially designed to spread the pressure over a larger surface.

This comprehensive package includes two robust davit arms with a 25 mm tube dimension, capable of handling a maximum load of 50 kg per arm. Due to dynamic forces occurring during sailing, we do not recommend a heavier dinghy plus outboard than this, despite the fact that, statically, it would hold 300kg in total with two arms. You’ll also receive two complete sets of high-quality blocks and ropes, along with two versatile fittings specifically designed to distribute the pressure evenly over your transom. The fitting exists for both angled as well as for straight sterns. Crafted from durable AiSi 316 stainless steel, with premium blocks and ropes, this davit system ensures long-lasting performance and reliability, all while protecting your boat’s hull.
