How to choose davits
Handling your dinghy should feel simple — not like a workout. The right davit system makes launching, retrieving, and storing your dinghy smooth, secure, and stress-free. Whether you cruise occasionally or spend long periods at sea, choosing the correct solution improves both safety and onboard comfort.

Guide
Selecting the right davit system
Maximum flexibility for installation
Our davit systems are offered in three capacities: 50 kg, 100 kg, or 150 kg per arm. Critical to safety, it is crucial to account for extreme situations where the full loaded weight of your dinghy (including fuel, equipment, and outboard engine) could be borne by a single arm. Consequently, the total weight of your dinghy must not exceed the capacity of a single davit arm.
Furthermore, the davit models differ in length. You should consider how far behind the transom the dinghy will hang and how high above the water you want it positioned. The davit fittings provide versatile mounting options, allowing for vertical placement on your transom or horizontal placement on your deck.
Align the davit arm position with the dinghy’s lifting eyes
To optimize lifting efficiency and minimize stress on your boat, position the davits on your transom so that the lifting path is as vertical as possible.
In harmony with your boat
For a harmonious and balanced look, it’s essential to select davits that are proportionate to your boat and dinghy. Oversized or undersized davits can compromise your boat’s overall appearance.

Engineered to protect your transom
Unlike traditional fixed davits, our innovative design eliminates the need for transom reinforcement. Engineered to manage only pulling and pushing forces, the system prevents torque and protects your boat’s structure from unnecessary stress. For added flexibility, the davits can be removed quickly using a single bolt — restoring your boat’s original deck length within minutes. This is a clear advantage for racing and can also make a difference when moorage fees are based on overall length.
