Midi Sleeve Sidelight is a thin and highly flexible LED tape designed to elevate the lighting experience onboard. Unlike standard tapes that require aluminum profiles to diffuse the light, this tape features a silicone cover that ensures a completely smooth, dotless glow without any visible hotspots. Its unique side-emitting diodes shine from the narrow edge of the strip, making it the perfect solution for following the gentle curves of a hull or wrapping around corners where rigid fixtures simply cannot fit.

With a high color rendering index of over 90, the Midi Sleeve brings out the true warmth of wood interiors and textiles. It consumes 10 W/m and, when paired with a standard LED dimmer, offers versatile activity-adapted lighting. You can seamlessly switch between bright, functional illumination for reading charts or cooking in the galley, and a soft, ambient light for relaxing in the lounge.

This luminaire is built to withstand the marine environment and offers unique placement opportunities. It is water-resistant and achieves an IP67 rating when the cut ends are properly sealed with silicone, allowing for safe installation along floors, in bilges, or on damp bulkheads. Installation is straightforward and requires no additional bulky profiles. You can mount the tape invisibly behind moldings using clips for indirect lighting, or press it directly into 4.5mm grooves—such as those found in standard mahogany profiles—for a flush, professional finish.

Midi Sleeve Sidelight vs. Midi Sleeve Frontlight

• The Side Light option is designed to be pressed into 4mm grooves, allowing the fixture to disappear completely so that only a dot-less line of light is visible from the side. Alternatively, a matching aluminum profile can be used for surface mounting.
• The Front Light option is designed for installation behind skirtings or inside cupboards. It comes pre-installed with high-strength adhesive tape for easy mounting. This LED tape adheres directly to GRP or wood and is flexible enough to follow the contours of the boat’s hull.

Both versions can be cut to the desired length, are easy to solder for power, and provide splash resistance when the cut ends are properly sealed.
